Thought

This is another day at work, thankfully it's friday and the weekend is here, yay! When I come into office every morning, I'll turn on my laptop, take warn water from the pantry, sit down, read and reply to emails, talks to my US-based counterparts if needed, make a cup of green tea and take a sip, then I'll pick a blog on my company's network to read up. We've a great diversity of employees from all around the world, it's just interesting and fun to read what other thought about the company, what working/not working for them, what mean to them/comapny and etc. I personally enjoy reading it very much :) And you would be amazed how people work in other regions, what are their BKMs(aka best-known-method) and how people would stay in the company that I'm working now for 30 years! Wow...30 years. I've never thought I would work for a company that long, I've been working for 7 years since the day I graduated from college with a Computer Science degree and this is my third job. With the pay I'm getting now and overall employee's benefits provided by this company, I can't complaint more and I certainly hope I would work longer here than the previous two companies.

Okay, the post that I read today was written by a female African American VP whom in preparation of her retirement in Marh. From what she has seen and experienced at the company over the last 30 years, she wrote about her journey with the company,. accomplishments, peronal thoughts and more. Knowing the truth it's not easy to be a female techical leader in the company, I'm amazed and impressed all that she has done within the company and be successful in her life. That post was a very well written piece and honestly it has been an inspiration to me.

Lastly, her advise to all of us and I think it applied to anyone who reads this post:
“You can’t come to I**e* and be a wall flower.
Stand up, contribute, and let your message be heard.
Be risk takers, focus on your job, and effectively interface with people both internally and externally.”

Happy working and I hope you all have a great weekend:) Till then...

Random

I must admit I am not a good blogger whom only updates her blog once a year :p The 15-days CNY is finally ended, and it's time for me starts working out to shed a few pounds from my fat ass. Well, who does not gain weight after CNY? It's hard to control what's on your plate especially when you have a good reason to eat more, and the food was just simply amazing. I got back to work on the 4th day of CNY, office was quiet, apparently most of them were taking a week off. Me, and a few co-workers attended SAP BI classroom training for a week on WW09, it's not too bad I guess, something new to us and fun to learn! Plus the instructor is kinda good-looking...mhuahauaha. Ended here with a photo taken during training. (Me in blue top)

Till then...

A belated one

I was doing a “spring-clean” for my laptop, tried to clean up some unused files and etc…sad to say, I have a habit to store all my photos, documents, songs, videos randomly on my personal laptop and sometimes I can only locate those files with a “search” function. I know I’m messy and lazy, haha!

While trying to move some photos/videos to a external hard disk storage (to save up some spaces of my laptop HDD), I came across some photos that I took during M.A.C Hello Kitty Event which held in M.A.C Penang, somewhere around March/April. No matter how much I love new cosmetics and makeup, I have never attended any new makeup launch before, I always find it too crowded and I would not have a chance to look at the newly launched stuffs peacefully. You know how crazy women can be when it comes to cosmetics: D

OK, move on to M.A.C Hello Kitty event. Who doesn’t love Hello Kitty? I bet 80% of the ladies out there are crazy for Hello Kitty. Honestly, I’m not really a big fan of Hello Kitty, I like it but I would not say I would go crazy for it. No doubt anything with Hello Kitty printing it’s so girly and cute but I have never bought a single HK stuff with my own money. But…thing is different when someone is too smart to combine cosmetics with this super cute ICON…oh well, I just have to admit that I could not resist the cute packaging of M.A.C Hello Kitty cosmetics and bought a blusher and a lipstick after the event, even though I have already had tons of these stuffs.

(Excuse the water mark on the below photos, I put it on the photos on my Facebook…I don’t want anyone to steal my photos..hahaha)

My Hauls...

The lovely M.A.C. sales assistants...they were kind enough to let me take a photo of them.

Another day...

I guess I must have some kind of so called “mid-week” blue syndrome...it’s Wednesday today and I feel so dreadful to wake up this morning. Probably because of the rainy weather that made me wanted to just hide under my comforter, or just because I’m getting de-motivated to go into office L At times, I just wish I could work from home all week so that I don’t have to see those unwanted faces in office. Things has not getting better at work…it’s my 10th month with this company…and why do I have such feeling? Arghhhhh…honestly I think the major reason is my manager. Well, he has been here for about 18 years and why can’t he just fucking know what me, as a relatively new employee want? We had so called 1:1 meeting and hell, what is the purpose of that meeting if you can’t even understand my needs and develop me? Sigh…

I got a text this morning from a close friend and it said:
In life, you will realize that the people you meet have a purpose. Some were put there to test you, some would use you, some would teach you, and some would bring out the better if not the best in you. Some may even cause you pain and heartache but one must learn to move on. So pray for the people who can’t treat you right, and be thankful for those who love you back and see your worth.

Enough ranting…I’m feeling better now after reading this. Time to get back to work, hopes today is a better day for me.

Happy always!

My LOVE

Isn't she cute? She is my baby girl, Muffin...a female miniture poodle. I got her from a local dog breeder when she was about 7 weeks, and she is already 2++ years now! Time flies, and of course I gets older day by day:p As time goes by, the bond between Muffin and me grows stronger...I could never imagined my life without her now. She listens to my rambles when I had a bad day at work, lays next to me when I cried, watching me quietly when am applying makeup for a date, and etc.

Dog is human's best friend, I have no doubt when people say this. They do not talk in human languages but they understand us and they feel what are we feeling. I feel bad when I read about someone just abondoned their pets on the streets everyday and this is SO cruel! We, human, have families and friends, but our pet...we're the only one they have. If you've been thinking of getting a puppy/kitten, please be responsible and committed to it, else I would suggest you to just keep a pet online.

(Muffin's outfit during Chinese New Year! and she got a few of red envelopes because of this :p)

(She is posing after getting a new hair cut :D)( A sketch of Muffin with her favorite toy!)
